Top Tips Book Flights Online

Best Guideline

As a general rule, cheaper fares need to be booked circa 3 months in advance and travel is restricted to one chosen train time.  More expensive fares offer greater flexibility on which train you can travel.

When choosing a Return journey, we will still show you the cheapest Single fares in the same fares matrix so you can select your perfect combination.  Two singles can sometimes be cheaper than a return fare.  By selecting Open Return you are telling us that you do not know when you are returning right now and therefore we would only show return fares.

The total journey cost for all people travelling is displayed on the right hand side of your screen under Journey Summary.  We also show you how much you have saved by buying in advance versus buying at the station on the day.

Our fares matrix displays the fastest available trains for the journey you are making.
As part of our service you can choose where you would like to sit.  So if you prefer to face forwards, require a table or wish to sit in a quiet carriage, please ensure you have specified your requirements before confirming your booking.

If you wish to change your mind on your journey choice, click the 'back' button at the bottom of any page in the booking process and amend your search.

If you want to make multiple bookings, simply click the 'Add another journey' button at the bottom of the Shopping Basket (section 5 in the booking process).  Add each one you are happy with to your basket and carry on searching for times and availability.

Once you have clicked the ‘Proceed to Payment’ button, you will be asked to enter your credit card or debit card account details.  The billing address entered must match the details of the card you are using to make your purchase.  You will be shown a short booking summary at the bottom of this screen.

Once you have clicked the 'Buy Tickets'  button, your purchase is complete and you will be shown your booking confirmation.  Please print this confirmation or make a note of the Reference number.  We will also email you this booking confirmation.  Alternatively you can click the 'Text me these details' link and we will send you a text confirming your booking.  This service is available on 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone.  Our reply to you will cost 25p inc VAT. This charge will appear on your phone bill.
